Calendar: Today’s calendar was led by Eric. Great job Eric!
Phonics: Today, students reviewed the “Y/y”
sound, letter, and song. Students completed an activity to practice identifying
and printing words that contain the “Y/y” sound.

Journal: Today students wrote journals about “If I were a superhero/princess, I would be
_______ because…” Students are practicing providing reasoning for decisions or
choices. Students are demonstrating a lot of creativity in their writing.
Lunch/ Recess 1
Unit of Inquiry: Today, students created
the planet Saturn. They discussed how Saturn has rings that go all the way
around the planet. Students also talked about the composition of Saturn and it’s
rings.
Math: Today, students started a
new unit about money. Students started by learning about the penny. The penny
is 1 cent, and we use it to count by 1s. We also discussed how 100 pennies is
the same amount as 1 dollar.
